![]() I try to make West Francia, Aquitaine and Burgundy as Kingdoms with dynasty members at the helm. You have all of the British Isles to put your sons into various duchies. This is where the game can go in so many interesting directions. Sometimes I wait to turn catholic until Ive raided up a solid chunk of money. Then I adventure into taking Neustria from West Francia when they're weak and try to form the Kingdom of Normandy with the duchies of Normandy, Brittany, Flanders and Anjou. ![]() I unite Norway but don't form the kingdom. I've recently been playing a lot of CK3 and the Harald Fairhair start. I’m excited about this oneįormed Kingdom of Normandy and here's why. ![]() I currently am doing my first ever run in Italy as a vassal of the pope. Great learning experience and I would say I learned a good 60% of what I know about the game today through my Alba playthrough. Meanwhile, my god, there was constant infighting. Then I was able to work my way up to taking over the throne. I got to take my time and develop my duchy, buildings and set up my titles. I was under the protection of a powerful king so I was not under much threat of invasion. This is because, as a new player, this game flowed at the perfect pace. They ultimately defeated me.ģrd favorite was my Alba playthrough. We were too weak as a tribe that made very little income. My mistake was I could never compete with the Norse people. I lost that play through but it was a lot of fun dealing with their raids and constantly doing this dance of allying with them one day and being their enemy the next. ![]() My second favorite run was when I played Onega- this little pagan tribal Duchy right next to the Norse people. I came quite close to being an emperor but it would always be a little out of reach every time I died. My whole family took over Spain! We formed different kingdoms and went to war with each other! I was slowly merging the titles. It was the perfect challenge taking over Spain, France and Africa because I could do it with relative ease, and yet every time I died it would throw everything off as my sons inherited the different titles lol. I had quite a bit of fun playing the Umayyad sultan. Currently, /r/CrusaderKings is operating its seventh communal game.
